Watch the fluid tank (for level change). Doesn't look bad for a 17 YO truck. If it really bothers you clean the area and then monitor.

Leaks typically don't travel upward. Looks like a timing chain cover oil leak, very common with the 4.0L.

The area likes to leak because the PS pump is attached to an outgrown flange on the timing chain cover. The PS pump therefore puts a lot of leverage on the sealing surface.

If it's been more than 5 years / 60k since you replaced the PCV valve, replacing it may alleviate the leak slightly.

I have a leak in the exact same spot. Unless seeing the leak really bothers you, or if you start to really notice oil levels disappearing, I'd let it go. Its not worth the hassle to replace the culprit for an oil seep like that.

Looks like a timing cover leak. There is an area behind the timing cover where the cylinder head meets the engine block that tends to leak over time.

Slow leaks like that can also be looked at that in a positive view. ( automatic corrosion protection)

Looks like a timing cover leak pretty much every 4.0 I have seen does this doesn’t look crazy just check your oil periodically and keep an eye on it.

I got the same thing going on as well. People have mentioned it’s most likely the timing chain cover leak. Taking it to the shop next week to confirm. Seems to be a wide spread occurrence with the Gen 3’s.
