The 2025sr Tacoma does not come with a hitch receiver but it does wiring lights and plug . As I was buying my truck I was told I could have it installed after purchase but you CAN NOT !!! Toyota you really messed up with this one!! I asked everyone and they said no big deal , now they are saying why would they make it without one !!!

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
So what was the reason? Does Toyota not offer the trailer hitch as a separate purchase or is the dealer refusing to add the hitch after purchase?

Any fabricator/welder can create a new hitch for the 2024+ Tacoma. Dead simple if using a kit like the 'REESE Trailer Hitch 37042'

All 4G hitch recievers are welded to the frame. If a truck was built with out the reciever it can not be added latter. With the exception of welding your own reciever to the frame, I doubt the reciever has a part number, perhaps it does have a part number, or it will be added to the parts catalogue later.

I have yet to see an aftermarket traditional style reciever any where. Maybe someone will bring one to market, I guess the mounting points for the rear tow hooks could be utilized for a receiver. That probably wouldn't be able to pull much weight, and the amount of trucks with out the receiver it probably wouldn't make sense for anyone to invest in creating one, as there wouldn't be that many customers.
