What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I snapped my passenger side bolt. And had to spin it out by hand through that top crevice. But I installed some icon bump stops.

 

Put the Softopper on. Still needs some adjustment but all and all I’m happy. It was a bear to get the last snaps in place and I still have a slight wrinkle on the passenger side but I’m going to let the sun and tension stretch the canvas out some before I do any adjusting.

 

Was hesitant - then saw R4Ts post their dyno. K&N next gen cold air- and yes it’s still a cold air sucking from the fender like factory
Although the PEAK power was made in the higher rpm band, there was power made throughout the entire range.
My mustang, with a larger filter and “powerpipe” produces significant/similar results.
Based on that I said F it, I’m going for it. Paired with the OTT and 4.88s, I’m happy with it. Cheaper than a charger lol

Today installed Hellwig 2002 helper springs. Feels like new again.

Clunking noises were not observed on first test drive, and axel wrap was lessened noticeably.

Installed a "hOt AiR iNtAkE"

 

saw an ad for these the other day. Are they hard? I can't imagine anything 3d printed to be soft enough for a bump stop, or hard enough to not delaminate as its 3d printed.

 

I have them front and back for over a year now, they are just as good as the Sumo Springs they replaced.
On his site he explains a bit how they are printed, 3d printing can make some pretty advanced things nowadays.

 

On my 2nd pair (1st replacement) in 8 yrs. Original set lasted 6 yrs. I simply bought the rubber part only (the actual blades not the whole arm assy) from Toyota. $6 each.
Great price for a long lasting product which was a piece of cake to install.

 

Decided it was close enough to the end of April to take off the winter tires & wheels. After various family jiggery pokery with assorted Toyotas, my 2022 off road is now sporting the wheels it was built with, and the tires it had when delivered. (KO2 265/75/16)

Saving the mud tires for hunting this fall.

 

I thought the same thing so did mine and my wife's on Saturday. It snowed last night.

Made the trip up to Alberta to have Summit Expedition install a flat bed. Modular platform with tons of options down the road. 60” length. 40” sealed sliding drawer. Sealed storage box behind the wheels. Couldn’t be happier.

 

What’s the difference between your bed and this flat bed? Do you gain anymore payload?

I opted for a set of side gates. They’re removable so it can covert to a true flatbed. The flatbed itself is roughly the same weight as the stock box, tailgate, etc. Added options like the sealed drawer add a bit of weight. I’m sitting just over 100 pounds from stock weight.

 

I would recommend avoid doing any business with 303 shock services.

USPS lost the package, then found it. Upon opening it today this is the condition of the lower shock bolts I received. The threads are heavily galled and the nut will not thread. I've emailed them multiple times and now they want me to pay return shipping so they can inspect the bolt to determine if replacements should be sent. I paid over $9 to ship these from CO to AZ. Now they I have to pay to ship these back? Seriously?



303 Shock Services can blow me.

It’s too fckn tall
Seriously, it downhill spiraled so quick. Started 3” OME/Bilstein - killed the OME pack/broke a front shock
Went Pro comp 6 - went Fox coilovers with resi front, custom Alcan 6” leaf pack, Bilstein 5160 rear, hammer hangers etc.

If I were to rate it, prolly a 6” front (cv’s are flat as stock) and almost an 8” rear. It’s fun when you have to load big fish in the cooler lol
