I bought my 4x4 2002 Tacoma double cab in 2004 with 33,000 miles on it. It used to be my work and hunting truck, seeing years of medium high mileage (15k to 18k / yr), but now is for casual hauling about town and nearby country.

I'm retired, and it still works fine. It now has 182,000 miles on it. Fairly low for its age, but that's fine with me. I have kept it stock OEM, and value reliability and durability over exotic performance. I do some basic maintenance work on it, but have had to take it to a shop mechanic for the few things that need expertise and his access to the usual shop lifts and air tools. I intend to keep it for as long as I can.

Glad to have Tacoma World fellow owners as a resource of information and experience.
