Hey everybody, stumbled upon the forum tonight when curiosity got the better of me and I started looking for a hood swap for my ‘23 Tacoma TRD OR (pic attached). I got the truck about 2 weeks ago now… It had 600 miles on it, and had barely been on the lot a week before I had my mind made up. This is my first truck, hell my first new vehicle ever - and I’m in love with the thing. My family owns an auto repair shop so most of my life I was usually driving hand me downs or whatever vehicles we'd buy and fix from customers who decided they'd rather buy new than eat the cost of repairs. I had been looking for a little bit, but when I found this truck I knew it was finally time to reassign my ‘01 Camry that served me well for nearly a decade (320k on the odometer, 250k that I put on myself - original drivetrain and the factory starter only went last month) and upgrade to something safer for my family, and something that I chose and paid for myself. The Camry is still running parts and customers around for my family’s shop, so I’ll be back to boast when it hits 400k.

I was first bit by the Toyota bug when I was 18 and totaled my ‘99 Lumina doing what teenagers do: going too fast (in a safe environment of course) losing control and hopping a raised curb in an uninhabited and yet to be built housing development. After seeing straight through the lie I told about a deer running into the road, my old man told me I could buy their ‘02 4Runner from them at a family discount of $15k. That 4Runner was worth every penny. I still remember in college there was a real central PA blizzard with 2 feet of snow, and my buddies and I were already nursing hangovers at the Dunkin Donuts 8 miles down the road when the university’s weather alert text went out saying no one should leave campus since everyone else was getting stuck! That vehicle taught me how fun a capable vehicle can be, and I never forgot. Even my Camry, fondly referred to as the “Ta-Camry” was a workhorse, but I’m certainly glad I no longer have to ratchet strap pallets or lumber to my roof anymore to get them home. (pic attached)

So yeah, I’m happy to be here. TRD Ferguson, it’s funny. This was inspired by a guy I met out in AZ a few years ago who thought it was so funny, that he had custom decals made up for his Taco. (again, pic attached). Still no match for my buddy’s Dodge Ram Power Bottom, but believe it or not he’s a single fella, so he can get away with that kind of behavior.

That’s all for now, see you folks in the threads.
