Anyone know who owns this truck? His name is Paolo and he ripped me off

I had listed some stock flares on FB marketplace, and this dude hit me up. He lives in Orange county and I'm in LA, so we were trying to coordinate pickup but he finally came up my way so he stopped by my place. I was in a class that I couldn't take a break from, so I left the flares on the porch and told him to check them out and if he wanted them just take them and pay me later via venmo.

He seemed like a pretty cool guy so I wasn't really concerned with him stiffing me, But of course that's exactly what happened. Also, the flares were only 50 bucks.

I'm definitely shouldering some of the blame since I let him pick them up without payment, But from my experience Tacoma owners are pretty cool and I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. Apparently he's also a member here. I've hit him up multiple times on Facebook and on the phone with no response.
I'm not really even that worried about the money, but I just want to call him out And hopefully nobody has to deal with him in the future. This is a picture of his truck: it looks kind of like a million other trucks and SoCal But it's also slightly unique and has some weird fender flares that I think he custom made.

I had a similar incident from a tacomaworld member I was selling some leaf springs but he was stuck in traffic and I had an appointment to keep so I left my leaf springs outside and told him I trusted him and to leave the money in my mailbox if he wanted them, when I got home I was $100 short in his “defense” he replied when I texted him and he said he checked his wallet and forgot the $100 bill in there but he did Zelle it to me

I also sold other stuff on tacomaworld where the members swore on their moms they would buy it and if they could hold it a few days so I was like no biggie but of course they ghosted when the time came. I’m sure most folks here are decent but you gotta treat them like you would any other stranger

 

Bump, someone has to know this scumbag. My cousin is a detective down in Orange county, and he said he can see the license plate And he's going to find out where the guy lives, but before all that I'm just trying to see if someone can contact him and tell him to pay me.

 

Integrity is fast fading away...

 

Unfortunately when it comes to money , you can’t trust people as a general rule .

 

Sad. In actuality he's nothing more than a thief.

 

To date all my dealings on Taco World have all ended well. You have to hold your breathe though because at some point weather your selling or buying there is a factor of trust / unknown involved. I go with my gut feeling and hope for the best.
I've delt with the low life's before on Craigs list. Had a guy swear to me that he was a Nascar executive and lived in a condo at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He wanted to buy my Nascar autograph collection which was substantial. We agreed on a price and said so we don't have any fear of ripping each other off Ill put your check in the mail this afternoon and you make sure you send me the tracking today to confirm you did your part. The guy sounded totally legit. I googled the address he gave me and it came up at a trailer park a few miles from CMS. His check never arrived. I sold the collection to someone else. Same crap on Auto Trader as well when I sold a classic car I had. Sold it locally instead.

 

Sorry, I should have updated. I called his number about 50 times, ended up finding his family's numbers and called them a few times too. I left I bunch of voicemails with no responses. I even found the guy on venmo (different name and number) and sent a few requests for 50 bucks. He finally paid it, no apology, no explanation.

 

You annoyed him enough to the point it was better to just pay you off. Well done and you're the definition of persistence.
