I've had problems with reading the check engine light, it has no communication with scanners, and the CEL doesn't turn off even after Disconnecting the battery. I've also had problems when starting the truck, it starts then turns off, then it does it again and finally it turns on, when revving it high, it starts to like choke and it backfires, I recently changed the spark plugs and wires. Recently I removed a spark plug and it's all black now, could this be caused because of the ECU. Is it damaged?

I have emailed a friend of a friend who does high end (Porsche/Ferrari) PCM repairs for a name of a shop that THEY would trust. I will get back to you when they get back to me.

That capacitor, c407, looks like it failed and spewed onto the pcb. Hopefully you'll find someone that can troubleshoot it to the. component
