First time poster but have scoured these forums and they are great!! Thanks to all. Anyone have a fix for the tailgate driver side bushing? The attached photo is what is going on, the little "pin" sheared off. Thinking drilling this and the bracket out and putting in a screw and nut? or JB weld?

Has anyone fixed this? Rather not buy a new bracket and get it painted.

I haven’t heard of this I’m sure that part is relatively inexpensive so I would just replace it IMO.

The steel bracket ranges from $40 generic to $65 OEM. The problem is it is not painted so would possible add that cost. I will be trying to drill out the bushing as well as the bracket and put a screw and nut there. see how that goes. Worst case it doesn't work or last and I then buy the bracket

Shove a bunch of your favorite adhesive in to try first. Maybe one of the many JB weld types. It may not last, but there would be no paint matching to do. Also have not heard of this problem before. Would be interested in how you found the problem and what symptoms there were.
