3500km. Today the shifter boot started making a swishing / leather rubbing noise going into reverse. It last started with a delay in the backup camera and the reverse chime coming on the first time. On subsequent attempts the camera and chime are popping up as expected but the rubbing noise from the boot persists.

I tried reorienting the boot a bit to see if it was snagged but it doesn't seem like it. Wonder if it is missing lubrication under the boot?

    Any thoughts?

Try putting it into 2nd and then reverse. Maybe that will help.

    Maybe this helps.

If this is normal I have never noticed it in the last year somehow. There is some foam underneath the boot material, not sure if it's that.
