    Hi all,
My 4.0L engine is running lean in both banks. I did a fuel pressure test and it seemed to be around the ~41 psi mark, but it would rapidly fluctuate. I can’t tell if it’s because the gauge is low quality or because the fuel pump needs replacement. For reference the tank did have 1 yr old fuel in it, some of that fuel was run through the car but it has been about 500-1000 miles since and I’ve been running premium with some cleaner as well. Car seems a little weaker but not very noticeable to be honest. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    From Alldata..

    pressure w/ engine idling - 41 psi

After the engine shuts off, wait for 5 minutes and it shouldn't be lower than 21 psi

Key on Engine off with service diag computer(but I don't think you really need that, look up jumping fuel pump relay)
    • Measure the fuel pressure [with the pump running]. Standard: 281 to 287 kPa (2.87 to 2.93 kgf/cm2, 40.8 to 41.7 psi)
    • Check that the fuel pressure does not change for 5 minutes [after the pump is turned off]. Standard: 147 kPa (1.5 kgf/cm2, 21 psi)

Yup, if you look at the video it’s kinda there? I just don’t know how perfectly stable it’s supposed to be. The leak down test showed that the pressure held well after 5 minutes above 21 psi.

Running lean as you're getting lean codes?

The fuel pump has a filter sock in the tank that is known to get dirty/clog.

I checked for vacuum leaks and I don’t hear or see any thing. Poked around the entire vacuum system too with propane to see if rpms go up and nothing. I’m fairly confident it’s a fuel issue. Think I should replace the fuel pump?

You need to drive it with the fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it maintains fuel pressure under load, if it does then your fuel pump is fine. If it doesn't then the fuel pump is suspect.
