I dunno, seems awful widespread for a single tornado? Just down the road people are missing roofs, sheds blown apart and in trees. :goingcrazy:

I used to live in tornado alley - and we never got winds like that...
Had one a mile from the house and the part I remember is the sky turning vomit green - not the wind

WHY didn't you do this sooner???
The losing food is what really motivated me - I can suffer thru the rest

    straight line winds

Straight-line winds are strong, non-rotating thunderstorm winds that cause widespread damage by toppling trees, breaking windows, and damaging buildings. They are often associated with derechos or downbursts and are more common than tornadoes. While they don't have the swirling motion of a tornado, they can be just as destructive.

It was a fresh tap of Prince Willy IPA that apparently had notes of blueberry and lemon.

The color was horrific but it was okay.
:( that sucks. Glad you guys are all okay out there.

I bought a gen set the year after Katrina, it set in my shed for 10 years without being cranked. I’ve used it twice, after Matthew, 5 days, and Helena, 2-1/2 days. Worth every penny. Doesn’t run the whole house, but food stays cold, tv and internet work, so it’s good.

So either my freezer sucks, or what, but I had a thing of ice cream that was almost liquid. o_O

Ironically not 15 minutes after I get the stuff in a friend's freezer I get an email from First Energy that power has been restored

Everyone last night thought it was a tornado, but I knew it couldn't be because of how widespread it was. People were reporting the same wind all over the county. You're right the winds were stronger over 75mph sustained winds. I've never felt anything like it. Our house was shaking. My bed was shaking inside the house.

I drove up the road, quarter mile up the lines are severed on the ground so I'm not sure how we have power. I haven't seen destruction like this since one of those hurricanes that came through like 15 years ago or more.

    So glad we're all OK!

Power looks to have come back on at 12 and everything appears to still work. Aunt/grandmother over the border in Maryland are still without power and they're not expected to get it back till tomorrow at the earliest. Told them to bring their fridge contents over here as I have the spare fridge in the basement.

    What a freak storm... o_O

My ex refused to cough up the 2K for the wiring/generator for a very long time
Even tho it was clear the power was going out more and more often...

So one Saturday the power went out hard - like gonna be 12hr..
So I went to work but there was no power there, boss said I could go home..
    I said NOPE
Let the ex sit in the darkness and think about him being a cheap ass for 8hr

Guess who was like 'we should do that electrical/generator thing' all of a sudden
