I have the same vehicle with the same problem. I actually had rust, and I was within 60-month corrosion warranty. I took it to dealer to open case with Toyota Brand Engagement and they wanted about $300 to inspect the vehicle. I said "nope, this needs to be treated like a warranty issue and TMNA needs to pay for the inspection." They didn't budge so I opened my own case with Toyota, and they agreed to pay for the inspection at the dealership. They had the truck for 3 days and had me pick it up, promising an update in a couple days. No response so I started calling and texting the service manager and the head of parts and service. No response from the dealer so I called Toyota Brand Engagement, and they promised to call me back with an update. They never called back either. After several attempts to get an update covering several weeks, I paid out of pocket to get the hood and cab repainted at a cost of $5400. I call Brand Engagement and only asked for address to send a Demand Letter. I then got a case manager and Toyota paid for the repair. Now, two years later, I have the same condition on the drive side doors. The only thing worse than the paint is Toyota's support.

This is nothing new with Toyota and I suspect it will only get worse moving forward.

Can't be any worse than GM,Ford and Dodge now they are all well known companies with bad warranty and PR. I know I have dealt with a few over the years but GM is the worst of the gang. Toyota has been a good reliable brand in the 30 years that I have owned them.
