    @slater Yes, still under powertrain warranty. With the way things have gone with this whole process I have a bad feeling that’s going to be a whole other pushback from Toyota.

    Another update: After talking to the dealer again, the truck did NOT fail the oil consumption test. It burned .4 quarts in roughly 1,200 miles and that is supposedly within Toyota’s acceptable range.

    After further escalation with Toyota corporate and the dealership, they’ve done additional diagnostic work and think they have narrowed it down to excessive oil in cylinder no. 3. Likely valve stem seals. Dealership is waiting corporate approval (warranty) to pull the head.
