Got the Stormtrooper vibe from mine before I found out that that was a thing, so I named mine Finn, since I wanted a good guy!

In all the cars I have owned, I don't think I ever named one but sometimes refer to my truck as Sandy!

First license plate had the letters LLY so naturally the truck took on the name Lily

Axehole...when I bought it, it had a hole in the roof like someone hit it with a hatchet.

Almost all my vehicles have taken some form of the name Beast- the Tacoma has been deemed Nutbeast.

Every vehicle that got the name earned it by muscling through conditions that were, at least in my mind, intense. Subarus manhandling gnarly snowstorms and steep snow safely, my old Explorer having the engine flooded while off roading (pulled plugs in the middle of the woods, turned it over to blow the water out, beat the plugs dry and reinstalled) and driving fine for another 100k miles like nothing happened, etc.

Friends from college intro’d me to the term Nutbeast, and I’ve used it intermittently ever since- Gives me a chuckle every time.

Driven a tacoma for 15 years now gen 2 and gen 3. Haven't been able to name one yet. After the shit boxes i drove in my teens and early 20's the new tacomas have been too dependable to pick up a personality or quirk to call their own. Although towards the end (10 years in) my last taco started to earn one.

88 Cherokee - "Doogie"- ran 3 out of ever 4 weeks then something would break (thermostat, plastic return tank, windows mechanism, sensors galore)...and it smelled like mildew

95 Ford Ranger (200k miles), gold, 14" rims, 2.3l. "Ethel"....solid truck 0 complaints didn't have enough horsepower to break anything. As others have said, "no one has exceeded the limitations of a Ford Ranger." Like an old lady we weren't going anywhere fast.

2000 - mercury villager (yea the mini van died after 8 months) "Lois" - family car....family guy name

2012 tacoma sr5 prerunner gray - i almost named this one "Rocky" got rear-ended ever 20k miles like clockwork. Drove a lot for work and could feel the accidents coming. All were either at full stop red lights or in rush hour traffic (also fully stopped); something about the color and bad CA drivers on their phones just plowed into the back of it....but like The Italian Stalion the truck just shook off each fender bender and kept moving forward.

New truck 2022 - too soon to tell...but excited to see what idiosycracies are revealed
