February 16th 2025, Colby (aw9d) passed away. He was a great friend to many here. One that will be forever missed and remembered. I knew him for over 14 years, ever since meeting him at a TW meet back in the day.. we've been best friends since. My wife and I even moved into the same neighborhood when we bought our house, so we could be closer. He had get togethers where many of us here on TW attended. He was just a joy to be around. Colby was an amazing person. He was kind, thoughtful, funny, smart, and true. He helped countless people here on TW, from stereo installs and troubleshooting electrical issues, to hosting Mod Days and just being an active, contributing member. Not only here on TW, but in life. He was one of the most caring people I knew, someone who would drop what they were doing to help anyone, anytime, including complete strangers. He was True to himself.. something I always admired about him. Not caring what people thought about him, just being himself. If you knew Colby, you knew him for who he was.. Eccentric and Loving.

We will forever miss you Brother. Rest in Peace.

Sorry for your loss and the loss of a valued member of TW! Condolences for his family and friends throughout!

These posts are always tough! Never had contact with him, but impact he had on this site and people in this community really is significant!

If you don’t mind I’d like to have @tcBob add him as a 10k Notable Member on the board. It’s something we started doing a few years ago for members gone too soon.

    RIP @Aw9d

Colby was an amazing friend! Did anything in his power to help out anyone. Him and his wife would adopt stray animals and find them homes and if they couldnt then they would just keep them. I will miss going out to get sushi with him, randomly drop by for beers when I am around and shenanigans in the woods. I will see what photos I can track down of him. RIP my friend.

A man i wish I got to know better. Colby was one of the first guys here to reach out when I was new and had questions. Only had a couple opportunities to be around him in person but he and I had a number of talks on here. From what I know of him through his closer friends, he was the same genuine guy whether he knew you or not. Rest in peace brother @Aw9d

Fucks me up to hear this. Theres a lot a great folks on here, back in the day when we all were a tight group of enthusiasts. Colby was one of the best there was on here. Dude just was always hilarious and helpful.
Rape sloth, Struggle snuggles with the best sense of dark humor around. The only guy i knew that was immune to edibles, could smoke a house down and walk after.
Never knew of what a Benson was until Colby. I never did attend one of his infamous block parties. That whole neighborhood and TW lost a true good soul.

Rest in piece Colby. You poofy headed amazing asshole.

This is a picture of the last time a lot of us got together and ran Elvis at night.
Colby offered up his tow pig and showed up at my door. We loaded up and went out and met with Josh & Lyd, Andrew and Jason.
Josh in his Tacoma, Jason in some 4runner he owned for a few weeks.

I really regret not burning that last one down together.

I'm sure I just bombed everyones inbox with all the posts I liked. I'm rarely on here but had heard recently that the tragic news of Colby's @Aw9d passing had been communicated on here. So I wanted to check it out.

Although it was very emotional to read through all the posts, I sincerely love and appreciate all the kind words about Colby on here. Originally coming from the import scene with lowered vehicles, his Tacoma was a huge change for us. Colby (and I) also learned a lot from many of you guys on here over the years. I know Colby cherished the friendships he made from Tacoma World. Thank you for being a friend to Colby.

I am planning of having a celebration of life on May 17th. Location and time are TBD but will be in Chandler/Gilbert area.

If you have a moment, please read Colby's obituary
    https://www.afterall.com/obituaries/d-19894226/chandler-arizona/colby-alan-webb/february-2025

I also created a shared album today, if anyone wants to contribute photos of Colby for the celebration of life.
