    Hey everyone,
I noticed one of my license plate lights was out, went to pop in new bulbs and found that the one that was out the wiring harness broke off.
image.jpg image.jpg I've been searching but can't find the harness I need. If anyone can work their magic and have some better luck finding the part I'd appreciate it.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother with those. After time those lights become a hassle once they start to deteriorate. And aren't worth the cost of replacing the housings and bulbs let alone wiring. I would just look into other options for plate lighting. I installed a little led bar and it's been awesome. Just enough light. Not too much/too little light. Just right. I ended up drilling a couple tiny holes on the top of the licence plate and mounting it on the plate itself on top. Looks clean and has lasted 3+ years no issues.

Or if you don't wanna drill into the license plate, there's other options. Such as a lighted plate holder...

Ok, that's a good idea. Did you just tap into the existing wiring that was running back there?

Yep. Tapped into the license plate wiring. And if you do end up getting that same led bar, there's little studs that screw into the led bar. With nuts on the backside which I replaced with nylocks. I think the studs were too long. So I mounted it on, put the nuts on, and hacked off the remaining studs. A little bit of a tight fit, but with some slight modding, it's perfect.

Cool. Does the bar come with a plug and play harness or do I need to do some soldering?

No, it's actually made for motorcycles I think. Just bare wires. I used waterproof connectors on mine. Soldering works too. But I can't solder for shit. Ha.

Well I got my light today and got it rigged up and running. I may have to resolder it at some point because trying to solder while underneath the truck was a major pain in the ass. And caution, melted solder dripping on your arm WILL cause you to scream like a little girl haha. Thanks for the help though, I really appreciate it.

i am trying to put this light
on my truck. i have the trailer plug and the license plate oem lights wiring
just tucked up under there for now

i think i saw a grey wire and a black wire on this plug on new kit, but can someone recommend
tie in into trailer plug wiring or the license plate light wiring? and what that involves haha

    thanks

I've always just spliced into the license plate wires. I use posi-taps. Very easy.

Looks like you've got a solution already with that holder, but im using this led bar now.

Thank you. And end of work mechanic coworker looked under and grabbed the farthest long oem plate light he said cut it right at the end and it's only 2 wires, that the 2 wires on new light crimp to.

Thanks for the posi tap info, going to look into them

And wrap w a bunch of electric tape or so.ething after I connect

I had a similar light you referenced on my t4r hinge hitch carrier but I think I forget how I rigged it

    Thanks again
