i searched and read some threads but didnt really get what i need
i have this kit, the light just has two wires, no clips or harness to plug in anywhere

currently my trailer plug is ziptied to undercarriage, and the two license plate wires as well from stock bumper

can someone recomend a way to tap into the trailer plug (i saw brown wire for trailer plug for my light stalk is an option, and other wires from the plug as well, but i dont know what im doing with electrical)

my coworker can probably help me but figured i should try to get a reference of some sort for him

i had one on my old 4runner but i swear it was able to plug in somewhere as opposed to tapping into another wire

    thank you

I might be missing something but why try to use the trailer harness and not just use the current license plate lights as the source? Could either cut the OEM plug off and connect the two wires to your new light wires, or make a plug and play harness if you want it reversible. Could use something like this, should be able to plug it right into the OEM license plate light in place of the bulb and connect the wires to wires on your new light to just extend your power and ground and have it work as normal.

^yeah if those are the right connectors then that's even better. One less connection and a better sealed connector than the one into the bulb socket.
