Hey all, just jointed Tacoma world. I have a 2011 2trfe base and am trying to install electric fans instead of the clutch fan but I can’t figure out where the threaded brass looking temperature sensor goes.

It didnt come with an electric fan...?
Thats a custom install & there isnt a particular location where theres a threaded hole for the sensor...
You need to figure it out, custom stuff right there...
Generally in the intake manifold in a water jacket....
    or stat housing....

Those usually screw into the engine somewhere where it can sense coolant temp. Not sure where it goes on your engine.
Did Amazon say it was specifically for your truck or was it a universal item?

As far as I'm aware there is no extra port in the cooling system to install an additional temp sensor, you would either have to install a tap into one of the rad hoses with a sensor bung, use a different design temp switch that sticks into the fins, or just wire them through a relay that triggers off an ignition source so they are on when the key is on.

Me personally I wouldn't trust an Amazon chineesium fan to work when I needed it, I'd rather stick with a mechanical fan and maybe add an electric one as an auxiliary if you need extra cooling.

Unless you're having cooling issues and need more CFM, the clutch fan is ultra reliable and trouble free. I have a supercharge on my 05 Tacoma V6 and the OEM clutch fan is more than adequate.

Elsewhere on the site you can find some info about adding an additional fan that makes the air conditioning work in stop and go traffic. If I remember correctly there is even a Toyota factory "fix" for that issue that uses the little booster fan. A manually switched booster might be a good mod for those that like to go crawling in Death Valley or similar terrain.
