Just order a contact kit for your original and have them on hand for when they go out.

But probably 75%+ of automotive parts are made in China from tires, brakes, to light bulbs.

Heck, I went to the local Toyota dealer a few years ago to order some parts and the package label was printed, made in Japan but the part was actually engraved China. Toyota rep stated they source supplies through whatever vendors they can, who is willing to supply the parts on the bid contract.

Global sourcing, common trend. Our idea of buying a quality Toyota and using high end made in Japan parts are long gone. If the so-called “quality” is somewhat decent and can save the company a good chunk of $$$, they’ll outsource the work. Supply, Demand, and Profit.

I bought a set of spark plug tube seal from the local Toyota, the parts were stamped China. Even some Toyota NOK seal I received says China.

Im big on OEM parts. I stopped buying these "OEM" starters years ago for all my cars. I take my starters to a local alternator/starter rebuild shop with great results. Never had any issues after the rebuilds. Much cheaper and just a few miles away from me. I drop it off and in about a couple of hours its ready for pick up.
