What are some other options to level the front if i were to do a HD leaf spring or AAL to the rear other than spacers? Seeing as how I read spacers are not good for our trucks

Sooooo we pretty much ONLY have a spacer. Max in the front is 3". For the 6 lugs spacers aren't as good because the shocks have a 3" shaft at the bottom that likes to collapse. 5 lugs don't have that 3in area and there's been plenty of us that have sent it with no issues. Once you go past 3" the uca hits the shocks and the only way to go past that is a now extent total chaos uca. Are you looking for more lift or load capacity?

That’s what I thought, thank you! I have like zero knowledge about trucks so just learning as I go. I think 3” is fine for me as I don’t plan on taking this truck on challenging off road trips but some forest service roads or light trails would be fun for camping. Im leaning more into load capacity

I asked in the 2nd gen forum but figured i’d ask yall here too to keep it consistent in this thread. since total chaos and fabtech control arms are discontinued, where can we source control arms should the need arise? Im thinking of hoarding stuff that I know I will eventually need such as leaf springs 5 lug specific and aforementioned control arms.

    edit:
Nvm found em lmao, thanks to

Looking for a final set of advice on everything before I buy it all:

    Fat Bobs 5 Lug Lift
    • 2.75 inch Front Spacer
    • 1.75 inch Rear Add a Leaf
4600 Front Shocks - are these strictly the only two options? For left and right?
    5100 Rear Shocks
    • Now is this where any 5100 rear pair will work?? Or do I need a specific set?
    Wheels & Tires
    • Looking to fit 32/11.5/R15. Does this seem reasonable? Need to do black box mod and roll over as well.
    • Cragar Soft 8s w/ -13mm offset and 4" backspace

when you say you made your own uca did you make one to match the total chaos? i got cash in hand if its possible to make another set? also im curios if anyone can help me understand this guys set up with the heim spacers? does that make it so you have more options of shocks to run up front since the icon shocks are discontinued? also anyone have any experience witht he sway away stuff? i was planning on doing the x runner disk break conversion with the red fj calipers and thought the red sway aways in the rear would look kinda cool too, some old reivews talking about surface rust but i shouldnt have much worries with that in so cal?

on the thread for install instructions on the main post of this thread it doesnt say anything about drilling the 4 new holes, i dont mind making existing holes a bit bigger but i dont really want to drill any new holes in my frame, is there a difference between what you used and the one used by kavik in the step by step stall? wanting to run the heavy duty leaf pack with a shackle flip

In most cases you're drilling out the body rivets which are 4 per side.

right but on anton_fro's post he mentioned the existing location didnt work for him and he had to dirll 4 new holes, while the install instructions only mention dirlling out the rivets t eo 1/2 inch to fit the new bolts, i guess i was wondering why anton had to mount his in a different location, he mentions difffernt length leaf springs and also brings up the 6 lug SOA vs 5 lug SUA, he mustve had to relocate mount to fit a 6 lug spring? im planning on going witht he hd 5 lug leaf pack i saw you post somewhere a year or so ago so i should be okay in stock location im assuming?

5 lug and 6 lug leafs are the same length but the 6 lug leafs make you way too TALL lol. I'm not him but I'm assuming he moved his rear location to lower the truck back down a bit. You'll be fine with the 5 lug springs. What flip kit are you thinking and what shackle? Also don't forget extended brakelines. (Any 6 lug stock or aftermarket ones will work)

im planning everything out now so i can have all the parts hear and do my entire rear end in one sitting hopefully, i think im doing the armortech off road shackle flip kit, not sure what shackle yet, open to recomendations, and the heavy duty 5 lug leaf pack. with tko bump stop mounts and sway away bump stops (hopefully still waiting to hear back from sway away steve about bump stomp mounts he would recomend with his bump stomps) and 2.0 sway away rear shocks ( i belive they are 0-1 inch lift shocks for 6 lug) and brake lines im also not sure of yet, i still havnt heard back from LCE as to if the x runner disk brake conversion will fit a regular 5 lug. so untill i know forsure ill prob just throw some stock 6 lug brakelines.

i just got off the phone with steve the sway away guy from afe, he mentioned hes had a couple people come in asking about the old discontued 5 lug coil overs and said hes been trying to get the green light to make something bolt on for the 5 lugs not sure exactly what he meant but that could be something coming in the future.

They should. The mount for them looks like it replaces the stock bump stop mount. Both of the designs for the 4x4 and PreRunner mount to the axle instead of the frame. I would suggest calling them to verify just in case.

Bought the mid travel arms and these fox coil overs but the coil overs seem big af. How big are the icons/sway aways that were used with this?

Keep in mind not all 8" shocks are the same length. Gotta measure extended and compressed
