Old school tacoma driver, probably going to join modern times, with more modern safety features.

Bummer about my truck. I really liked it and cared for it. It's a total loss.

Will be test driving a gen 3 shortly, and I have a feeling it's going to feel more like a recent tundra than an old tacoma in comparison.

Bummer is right. If my 1st gen (2004 XtraCab) was 4X4 I wouldn't have traded it in on a 3rd gen. You might like the 3rd but it's a completely different vehicle. The 2GR-FKS V6 is a good engine but it is tuned a little wonky. And not all for the better. Good luck with whatever you decide.

If you type in 2014 or 2015 tacoma on carmax they have trd offroad in there in clean condition, for under 30k

'96 xcab 4x4. Inherited it when wife bought a tundra. It was only 130k.

Thanks. Been lurking here off and on for a while mostly with searches. Finally decided to register, so will post whatever I decide.

Take several test rides in different models to see what you like and don't like. You're right, it's not going to be the same!

I’m not sure I could ever change,
I mean eventually there won’t be any 1st gen’s left, but until then, that’s what I’ll be rollin’.

I just love the style of the trucks, and also sticking it to the man, lol.
