SRS light (little airbag lad) popped on in my 2014 Tacoma. The dealer quote $400 just to run an OBD scan. I said they were crazy and went on my way, here's what I did to fix.

    1. Checked all the SRS connections (yellow wiring and connector)

    Helpful video about SRS connections
    • Two under the hood at the front (L/R)
    • One under each front seat (L/R)
    • One in/behind(?) the steering wheel, often if this one is bad your cruise control and horn will not work due a broken spring something
All of these connections looked good so I was a little perplexed

    2. My battery was over 5 years old so I went ahead and replaced it thinking maybe to low of a charge was reaching the connection and it was causing problems

    This also did not fix

    3. Needed a little help narrowing down where it could be so I bought an ANCEL TD700 OBD2 scanner for $140

The scanner was able to read everything and showed that it was the connection for the driver seat position was down. The SRS system uses seat position to deploy/not deploy the steering wheel airbag.

I looked under my driver seat and sure enough, that connector had a wire that was completely broken off, it was this same issue described here

    4. I found that you can replace the wiring harness the seat position sensor connector is on relatively easy and pretty cheap. OEM from Toyota is about $50

    5. I took off the seat

    6. Replaced the seat belt harness

    7. Put the seat back on

    8. Turned on the truck and after running the SRS check the light turned off

Not mentioned is me trying to solder the old wiring harness and it failing to fix the connection xD
