Been working on some maintenance items. I'm in the process of refreshing my fuel system, new pump, filter and refurbished injectors. Dose anyone know how to prime the system to check for leaks without putting in intake back on ? To my knowledge it only delivers fuel when the truck is running or at least cranking. Also has anyone bypassed the coolant to the TB? I also replaced the plugs since I had such easy access. I also snuged up my valve covers I don't understand how the lower ones get so loose. I know the torque spec is low but dang they are always coming loose. Their especially bad on the T4R. And pictures for attention.

Turn the key to the On position and the pump will start building pressure. I felt like I real ass when I got it all back together and found out I crushed one of the injector O rings and had to take it all apart again. Didn't make that mistake the second time around

My TB coolant lines were re routed to the turbo so it's definitely possible

I don’t see any Tesa tape for the wiring loom casing that might fall apart from being brittle when you change the valve cover gaskets

Are you talking about this flimsy plastic cover that looks like it's already been beat to shit?

I'll add it to the shopping list. There's already a few casualties I need to replace. Namely a T-fitting, a coolant hose, and a vacuum hose.

I'm probably going to replace all my vacuum hoses prophylactically when I get to doing my valve cover gaskets just to not have to worry about them. Whole bunch on my '04 are looking rough.

I'm starting to wish I had this foresight, but on the other hand I'm going to be pretty busy with the supercharger bearings. This will likely have to wait until next time.

    I hate mud

Jump out the relay, I can't remember what it's called but it's name is not obvious that it relates to fuel pump.

Fuel pump is only on when engine is cranking.

Then wouldn't the pump shut off as soon as you turned the key back after cranking?

I could have sworn I hear the pump running while the dash bings at me before I turn it all the way.

Y'all got me questioning reality again

Thanks that's what I thought. I'm not sure which relay your referring to. I'll just crank it for a second and see what happens.

Are you running a Haltech? Those prime the pump w/ key on. Or at least they have the option to.
