So I've had my '23 since last August. It seems my list of things I don't like is growing. What don't you like? My thoughts.....

-The drivetrain isn't real smooth. A bit jerky.
-The seats are not uncomfortable, but could be a lot better.
-It beeps for everything. I hate the beeping.
-Radio/Entertainment system is very lack for a 2023 model.
-Woefully underpowered. Has anyone done a 3.5 TT swap from the Tundra's?
-Rides a bit soft. I get it's designed for some OR capability. Better shocks should help.

    Likes-
-Fulfills it's job as a daily driver well. I got it used so I'm not obsessing about daily wear on it.
-Perfect size cab. Not too big or small.
-It's a truck and does truck stuff! I don't have to put mulch in the wife's Cayenne anymore!
-It's not too big like a F-150 or Silverado. You can actually swing it into a parking space on the first try.
-Gas mileage is good for a 4x4 V6. I can consistently get 19-20.

    Discuss.

I don’t like that it didn’t come with floor mats.

Sorry you didn't have the ability to take test drives and do research in the 7 years the model was in production before you made your purchase.

Underpowered???? I still don’t get this comment my 2019 has no tune bigger tires and a 2 inch lift and gets up and goes no problems you need to learn how to drive this truck. It requires you to push the skinny pedal down like you own it not tap it like your driving your grandmas car. High rpm’s is your friend.

The interior is easy to scratch, but things can be replaced if needed.

Make a list of things you did not like about your previous vehicles. If that list is shorter, maybe go back to that vehicle.

If the previous vehicle dislike list is longer, maybe the Tacoma is not so bad after all.

I absolutely HATE the 6-speed transmission! I cannot even imagine the newer toyotas with 8speed transmissions! I mean, the dang thing is always hunting gears, although it is way better than when I first bought it brand new. Still though, I just go back to my old 1996 Tacoma, with its 4cyl automatic, and that transmission was smooth!

Yeah the truck has plenty of power, the issue is that it's at 4k+ RPM. I don't mind it but I can see how some people do. Just mash the gas and enjoy.

I think it’s one of the most annoying complaints out there. The V6 absolutely gets up and goes plenty fast when needed.

I agree … I have a 2019 and I think the power is fine. The vehicles I drove in the 90’s with a V8 none the less, wish they had the power this truck has. As far as the beeping at everything you can shut that off . The seats are not luxury seats but they are fine . I don’t even think about that when I drive . When I picked up the truck new, I set the seat to drive and never looked at it again. Tall this junk they keep adding to the new stuff makes the truck so expensive on the new ones . Plus it allows way more stuff to waste.

I'm in the underpowered camp. I get it, it's no race car but Toyota decided to simplify by using the same V6 across the entire lineup. For a truck application low RPM power is preferable.

All the naysayers will respond with how it keeps up with traffic if you rev it up. I'd prefer to keep up with traffic driving like a normal person and rev it up if I need to pass traffic. It's a Tacoma not an S2000. When I do have to go past 4k RPM it's not pleasant sounding.

The underpowered part is a misnomer. Get yourself a Sprint Throttle Booster, and you will eat your words, I can tell you that! I actually had to turn my Sprint back after I had put it on Sport Mode #9. I was constantly spinning my wheels as if I was at the beginning of a drag race! Believe me, the 6cyl has plenty of power!

The hood it so stupid. They made the hood flat and tall to make it lough but all it does is reflect the sun in the passengers eyes.

Gearing is ridiculously tall. 5.29 gearing with stock tires still has enough for freeway driving

Crawl control has done nothing but make things harder.

Drum breaks are ok but it makes it difficult when changing pads to something different. You can buy different pads for the front but you won't find the same compound for the rear changing the brake balance.

You can turn off some of that beeping with Tech stream. For example, you can disable beeping for seatbelts so if you put a heavy bag on the passenger seat, you'll see the light on the dash, but it won't beep.
