I have the APH-TY01 adapter for connecting new front component speakers to amplifier. I plugged the adapter into the factory amp and didn't connect any of the speaker wires coming out of the harness but I have sound going to the dash speakers and rears. There is a pair of black and brown wires that are already pre-connected to the harness so I assume these are the wires for those speakers. The instructions label these as pass through wires, whatever that means.

So my question is do I need to run new speaker wire for the dash tweeters? I want them to be on their own separate channel. I have front left and front right wires for the door speakers coming out of the harness. I also have speaker 3 and 4 wires in the harness that can be used. Should I connect the tweeters to the front L and R and the door speakers to Speaker 3 and 4? Would that mess with the fade/balance settings on the head unit? Another option is to tap into the brown or black wires (whichever are the dash speakers) that are pre connected and run that to my amp?

The pass-through wires are NOT speaker wires, so leave those alone

you should have a second set of wiring. 4 of the speakers are on one harness, and the others (including subwoofer) are on the other harness

Of course, makes sense now. I was thinking there was 2 harnesses for different style amps and choose the one that fits. I didn't realize the 10-pin fits the black plug on the amp. :facepalm:Thanks for the info, really appreciate it.

Life would've been easier if they put all of the speaker wires on one connector (I mean there's only 16 speaker wires) but for some reason they split them up
