Spent some time at the spot, clearing brush, digging sapling stumps out, widening foot paths, and getting to work on the Cadillac shitter. I did a bunch of reading on design principles with info from the USFS and some mil field manuals.

The pit is flashed up to the entry for the throne, to funnel any vapor up into the intended entrance/exit.

Stainless flashing tabbed and circumstapled to create a splash collar, with two beads of butyl tape to seal down the pedestal (a sump basin with a wide flange and metal inserts on the bolt holes)

Got as far as I could with the time and material available. Next week I'd like to get the rest of the wall framing in and the roof on. I'll probably fabricate the trusses at home and truck them in, my cordless circ saw eats batteries entirely too fast to get them made reasonably onsite.

    Looks killer!!!

Remember too that GM is notorious for trying to hose people on warranty stuff too..my 06 was more of a problem than the beaters I've had.

Yeah... every car company does shady shit, some just more than others. Nothing I'm looking at really has a warranty though.

Just got back from Aruba yesterday.

They get some amazing 4wd variants we never got in the states. The two door LC Prado was a wild sight but what threw me (and I wish I got a pic of it) was what looked like a Mazda pickup that was a crew cab but was also a short bed but had the wheel arches centered in the bed (like a Tacoma longbed). I don't know if it was custom or what, but it was neat looking. I can't find a similar pic online so maybe it was a custom.

That is right around the corner from me - literally. I could walk to County Rd.

Haven't been through there in a while, so I can't offer much insight despite the proximity. Used to mountain bike some of the roads in there.

Did some things yesterday…. Truck is ready for camping season! Cap came in and I got the Bedrug installed. I haven’t had a Bedrug before, this one has the Impact Mat on the bottom and the rug in the sides, should work out well.

I saw a bunch of those as well. The two door Pajeros are fun. The shop that tuned my STi had a Dodge Raider with a 2JZ swapped into it.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Ford problems! My truck came through pretty nice but had a chip on the hood. Not a factory problem. Must have happened during transport

I would imagine it’s a fairly universal issue. They look good leaving the factory, but they don’t really correct the paint. I just washed and waxed, no paint correction. To most, it would look really good, but I can pick out the little imperfections and swirls leftover. This summer, I’ll strip it, cut it and polish it up, make it really shine!
