I was going down a steep logging road and had to back up a few times to line up and squeeze between a log cut out of the road barely wide enough for the truck. the oil pressure light went on and the engine started clattering and there was a small puff of smoke from under the hood and a faint smell of fuel. I immediately shut the engine off and coasted down to a flat spot and checked the oil. It was full I crossed my fingers and started it back up. It clattered a little and the oil pressure light went off but the CEL remained on. It sounded normal. I drove home and check the codes.I got P021 and P0111 timing codes. I cleared two of them and the other two went away the next day along the the CEL. The big question is did I damage my engine? I have seen that inclines can cause issues like this on many newer tacomas but no one ever discuses solutions or causes other than design flaws.

Did you hurt anything? Probably not.
If you did, you'd know it by now.
    But don't do that again.

You sent oil "away" from the pick up tube on the incline.
And likely sent oil through the PCV into the intake (puff of smoke).

Again, don't ever do that again.

    Carry on. Lesson learned.

Seems weird a road would be that steep to cause a problem.
