Not when I can do the swap for $2-2.5k and get replacement motors for <1k with <100k miles on them haha

For endurance racing, keeping mods limited to longevity stuff as much as possible is the preferred route.

Maybe you should swap in a 2GR in your truck! People are making 400+wheel NA with mods and 700+ wheel with boost on stock motors (I don't think they last all that long at that power level tho)

While I do appreciate the 2gr, I wanna see how capable the 5vz is. It won't be making 400 NA, but maybe 250? In the end I'll be happy with a reliable 500 wheel, turbocharged of course (bottom end etc.).

I'm making ~280 wheel on my 2GR Double cab with headers, Maf pipe and an FMW tuned ECU.

400+ WHP builds are becoming "common" in the MR2 community, which is leading the charge on 2GR performance development via Frankenstein Motorworks
They generally consist of Headers, Cams, valve springs, and an intake manifold+injector upgrade, along with (of course) an ECU tune.

With boost, there are "dozens" of 2GR MR2's north of 500 whp on pump and getting well above that with E85.

Didn't know that MR2's came with 2GR's in them.
What kind of mpg are you getting on yours? I can achieve the same HP on my 3rz with a turbo, but the probably better MPG and being able to do without 91 is attractive.

I usually get 16-17 mpg for my daily commute with mixed city/highway, in the winter I can get as low as 12 depending on amount of slideways. Highway is usually 20mpg if kept at 70mph, it goes down as speed goes up.

Driving 55 it will get 24mpg lol.

    I also have the .69 5th gear.

Ya 16-20mpg would be sweet. Best I've been able to get is 14 these days. More like 11-12 when throttle heavy.
Did you swap over the whole 2g drivetrain with trans and t-case, or adapt it to the R150?

Man i know i suck at sharing details but you might needa scope my double cab build again lol.

Ill try to do more of a write up for the low body swap. Its definitely more straightforward without the front diff.

I modified the trophy with a pikes peak tacoma matchbox car.

Absolutely the inspiration for the build.
