Imagine going to the dealer to purchase a new vehicle and when you asked for the performance specs they said "Oh, we dont have any and never have, but "Trust Us Bro-T3q". What would you do? Same applies for any tune you're considering. Over the years we have seen many questionable tunes by companies who have come and gone, leaving many customers high and dry with problematic tunes. Same old story, no R&D, no performance data and a list of "improvements" they can't back up. While there is no better mod than a tune for your Toyota & Lexus, be sure to do plenty of research from numerous groups/forums. Ask questions. When in doubt, post for a second opinion. Don't let any guy with a laptop touch your truck! Let's face it, if these companies knew what they were doing or had positive data, they would share it. Instead they play victim when their fools gold tunes are called out which is nothing more than a tweaked pedal Lets keep the industry in check and improving - Ask for the data.

A dyno is a machine which you drive on and measures your hp/tq. Its important to get hp/tq before you start moding your vehicle and after to ensure what you're doing leads to positive results. When a reputable company creates a tune they will begin with R&D/testing, and openly share their results. This combo'd up with tuning experience, and a few other tweaked parameters will lead to a great/safe all around tune. It takes 30 minutes and about $200 to get dyno data, so there is no excuse for a company not to provide it. Be sure to ask technical questions (ie shift point, air/fuel etc). Post in numerous places for non biased feedback. Educate yourself on how to read the data and look out for the fools gold. Don't risk making less power than stock like many enthusiasts who have been bamboozled. Its easy to create a tune with a tweaked acceleration pedal but what are you really getting. Help keep the tuning world in check - when considering a tune for your Toyota/Lexus demand the data. Remember its your hard earned money and truck, stick to the tried, true, tested Overland Tailor Tuning OTT
