I've been looking at YouTube vids on the OEM TRD Cold Air Intake System, PTR03-35160.

Several vendors say it only fits 2016-2022. For some unknown reason it will not fit my 2023 V-6 3.5

I then tried to buy the OEM PTR03-34140 TRD Performance Air Filter at my local Toyota dealer.

However, the parts guy said it was flagged "No sale' and could not be ordered. It appears available on Amazon though.

Any thoughts on why the cold air system won't fit my 2023, or why the drop-in OEM performance element would not be available through Toyota?

I wanted to stay OEM for the present, but the K&N filter may be my only alternative.

I have a '23 and was able to install with no problems at all. No input on the filter though.

All BS. You try another Toyota dealer? Go sparkparts.com. If not tru aFe Power, they have real Cold Air Intake kit. Cost almost as much as TRD.

It fits, but you won't gain much if anything aside from more noise. Throw that oiled filter in the trash or sell it. Keep the oem paper filter.

    Yeah.
I doubt there is much difference between the TRD filter and a K&N if you are just swapping filters. As long as you have the 3.5L V6, the TRD kit should work just fine and comes with a filter. It sometimes takes them a while to update the years on things.

I have the TRD kit but use a paper/cotton filter. I used to swap between them, using the oiled filter in town and paper when going off pavement, but it just became a hassle. One day on dry, dusty roads can do a number on a filter. I just use paper and knock the dust out daily.
