1st gen Tacoma (1995 Tacoma

Not sure if anyone has a problem with opening the door from the exterior. I have to use so much force and shaking to get the door opened. I tried adding a small bolt to the rod where it connects to the latch but it ended up breaking my exterior handle. I tried looking for new rods for my truck but have a hard time finding the parts. So I am not sure if it is the rods or the actual door latch. Also from the interior it opens super easy, no problem at all from the inside.

 

If the door opens fine from the inside, I would guess it’s your exterior door handle that is the issue.

I replaced my plastic exterior handles with these metal ones a few years back and they have been great.
