I bought that one. It doesn't fit its 30 % smaller than the original and bolt pattern comes up 1 1/2 inch short. I'm in contact with parts geek for a return. Any other sugestions

If you are also skilled at internet searches, I’m going to be off little help to you. The closest I’ve been to by carrier bearing is adding a OME drop spacer.

    This came up too.

The carrier bearing on the 3rd gens is slightly wider than 2nd gens. The one you received from partsgeek was likely for a 2nd gen. 3rd gen carrier bearings mounting width is roughly an inch wider.

Best bet is probably online somewhere like from toyotapartsdeal.com or a Toyota dealers online parts site, there's plenty out there.

Edit: This is the PN you're looking for, 37230-09080, specifically for 2016+.

Thank you every one. I found one @ mako drive shafts for 29.97 that's way better than toyota's price. I should get it in 3 days. so now in with an old u joint in center of shaft until new carrier arrives.

I've been going through this for a week now. The 3rd gen is very different than the 2nd gen. The mounting holes are over an inch wider (5.75" vs 6.89") and the ID of the bearing is 32mm vs 30.

RockAuto lists the bearing, but it's not available. I knew the first suggested listing wouldn't fit because it said fits '15.

I found one from another vendor, a driveshaft specialist, for around $40. I've been leery of ordering, partly because of the price, suspecting it's actually a 2nd gen. A couple of other places that listed the bearing, but out of stock were $115-$175.

Toyota's price of $272 is stupid. I bought a low mileage driveshaft out of a wreck for $275. I'll rebuild the original and keep it around for a spare.

I don't see one on their site that will work. Good luck.

You can't replace the center bearing without pulling the u-joint. If you're doing one u-joint, you may as well do all 3.

That center bearing is the one. I haven't used it yet, I bought a driveshaft from a wreck and the one I pulled out is going to be a spare.
