Im guessing the motor gear is improperly clocked or dead.

It was bound up and thats why I couldn't get the gear to move. The motor is also screwed up somehow. It wont turn when I press the button but I did get it to engage

It can really only be a few things. Wiring, improper clocking, dead actuator.

Fair. If its able to engage that rules off a dead actuator, correct?

Not necessarily. there’s 3 or 4 contact tracks in the actuator.

How hard would it be to repair one of the contact tracks? Probably just easier to get a new actuator

    idk, haven’t service one yet.

Easiest will be to test the continuity on the RR button to make sure it engage and disengage

Have you managed to disengage the locker itself by hand yet? If you still need to do that, I've found it helpful to lift the rear of the truck in the air (chock the front obviously), and spin the tire slowly with one arm while fiddling with the locker with your other.

I was able to disengage the locker by straightening out the wheels. I did drive around, turn, and do all the steps I read on other forum posts. Only after my friend told me to straighten the wheels did I able to get it disengage by hand

they all got their pros and cons. Air locker will lock and unlock with a push of a button but has more failing point from wiring harness, pressure switch, bad compressor, leaking reservoir, solenoid, damage air line etc.

If you’re going air locker, I highly recommend TJM Prolocker over ARB.

Not for a long, long, long time. Broke student atm, I'll stick with my manual locker until I can lowball a guy selling a parted out Tacoma.
