Can someone school me please. There are some threads but not a lot of relative information. Need to make a decision, but not really finding enough information to make a choice.

Looking at both online, and having the same question as you, I think the c4 looks like the better choice, as it ties more of the framerail into the mount. The bamf looks beffy as all hell, but only wraps back around the front riser for the crossmember. Still more metal, but more pulling on the same weld for the crossmember/bumper brackets

I have the BAMF bracket. I don’t have a BAMF bumper so it needed to be modified to fit.

What did you end going with? I’m unsure of which one offer more supports.

I went with the C4 because they go further back and tie into the frame. That rear bolt runs perpendicular through the frame. So you end up with more bolts covering more planes. Which I would imagine equals more strength. You get the 2 in the front facing the front, 2 from the bottom up where the sway bar mounts and the large bolt in the back through the frame. That said since it is larger and goes further back you will have issues if you run shocks with resi's so plan on some modification work.

With the BAMF it looks like you will not have issues running resi shocks. I know they are beefy but have no actual experience with them. Looking at them online they bolt to a welded frame support while the C4 is bolted to the actual frame. Side note for my bumper I had to cut off the welded frame support they mount too. Consider that in case you may want to run the C4 Rock Runner HC bumper in the future.

I just realized this thread is over 2 years old. :anonymous:

I haven’t yet, but I will be going C4. Same reasons as above.

Which bumper? I just got my SSO slimline bumper delivered today and just ordered the C4 bracket. Hoping to put it on once the temperature gets a bit warmer. From all my research, I'll have to knock out the bolt that's welded to the frame and get some longer ones.

Any updates on the SSO and the C4 combo?

I haven't had time to install it yet but it's just grinding the 4 bolts off and replacing it with longer bolts. I've already painted the C4 bracket and went to ACE hardware to pick up some new hardware. I purchased four M10 x 1.25 x 50mm Grade 10.9 bolts and 8 washers. I was going to go with 40mm but I wanted some extra thread. I'll be installing it the first week for May and I'll make sure to send some photos.

For comparison, side view of the RCI version of BAMF reinforcement bracket. I too grinded off the 4 outside mounting studs and bought the same stainless bolts at Ace. The plastic dust cap to the rear of the bracket/above sway bar bushing, pops out for resi brackets and/or extended reinforcement versions like C4s.

Got it installed today. The most annoying part was grinding the bolts off for sure. Take your time with that portion. The C4 bracket gets in the way of the wheel well liner but I was able to tuck everything in the got the clips to go in.
