Are you referring to personal residences or popular off roading areas like Harrison, Sylvester Road, Chilliwack or the Sea to Sky corridor?

I see Golden Ears was shut down as it got hammered.

We live at a higher point in the Lower mainland. All okay so far other than some interesting early morning commutes.

The Boundary is our summer playground. Been going there for over 20 years. So much to discover and explore. So much history there. Some hidden.

Take the road from Phoenix South to near the border and turn west. Or access off #3 via Gibbs Creek Rd. More recent activity is the Lexington that directly underlies the City of Paris workings. Lexington briefly operated in 2008, they got roughly $3m worth of gold out of it, only cost them $5m to do it.

The road South from Phoenix was built to access the Lonestar deposit just across the Border. It was mined when Phoenix was still operating and despite being in the US, was a Canadian operation with all access from the north and ore trucked to the mill at Phoenix. A fence surrounded the south side to restrict access. The only portion of the operation that was American was the taxes.

These days the road is ditched a few hundred metres North of the border and a three stand barbed wire farmers fence is marking the Border.

I've been to the Lonestar several times, accessed legally through the US, and every time I've been met by Homeland Security on my way back down. The area is monitored. RCMP were doing a weekly drive through on the Canadian side for a time.

When I worked in the area, there was a large police presence one day and a chase through some of the roads. A van load of Korean migrants was busted closer to Phoenix.

Hilariously, a couple of years later I was doing a job on the Sunshine Coast and the motel I stayed at was owned by a Korean family. Taking with their son one day I told him where I'm from and he said "oh, there's lots of cross border trails in that area."

A little of all. I live on a north shore Mtn, but we had neighbours flooded out.

The backcountry in Lynn valley all closed up.

How are Tarrifs and the scrutiny of them effecting you? So far it meant interest rate coming down. So can the all bad? Can it?
