4x4 low

Hi everyone , I know there's been posts about this before but this one is a little different.
My 4x4 low light is flashing ,no 4x4 and no cruse control , been like that all winter-no garage to work in.
Want to take it to the dealer but I've spent thousands there already like $ 1650 for a gas pump!
Anyways when I plug in my code reader and start the truck no flashing light and everything works great untill I unplug it which leads me to believe there's a negitve missing and it may pass through the code reader. Have no clue where to start looking except maybe the relays. Under the truck is a grease pit cause I get it treated every year so I like to leave that to others to play in.
Any idea's?

 

hey, i got mine to engage once in my old t4r by parking on my side lawn instead of the driveway

also, my current truck wants to be in nuetral for going into 4h or 4l, so try with it in nuetral, not D

 

Oh thanks but believe me I tried everything you can think of but if that light is flashing ,4x4 is not happening. By the way it's a 2009 4L and I have a work truck so the Tacoma may sit there 2 weeks at a time ,not good for it but no choice

I presume you are trying to go into L4 while in Neutral, not Park... ?? That used to be the big "oh yah" moment... The instructions are on that card in your sun visor, too. I have a 2010, TRD Off Road Automatic. If manual, you need to fully depress the clutch. May the Force be with you!

That's a load of information,well appreciated that is exactly my problem I also get the EVAP codes .Will start working on it today thank you very much.
