P160400 after installing a new clutch kit - 3rd Gen 3.5L

    The throwout bearing in my daily driver, a 2016 3.5L Tacoma started chirping so I took my truck to the dealership and they quoted almost 4k for an entire clutch job.
    So... I decided to buy the Centerforce II kit with flywheel and do the install myself. 30 hours and a clutch accumulator delete later, the new clutch kit is completely installed, the transmission is back up and re-wired, and the clutch line is bled.

    The only problem is, the cylinders flood instead of starting and I have zero clue why. The starter sounds good and you can hear a couple cylinders try to fire every few seconds while the key is turned.

    Luckily there is an auto-shop right next to the parking lot that I'm doing the job in, and the gentleman from the shop was more than happy to bring his diagnostic computer out.
    Thankfully, there were no transmission codes thrown, and the only code coming up is P160400 - failure to start.
    Also, the live diagnostics showed one of the cylinders at under 200 RPM then showed one at 0 RPM and the others at 51,000 RPM. I don't know what that means but maybe some of you would know.

    The mechanic was helpful enough to check over my work, look at my CPS sensor, check fuses, and check electrical connections. He told me it might be the result of the ECU resetting, and the computer has to relearn how to trim fuel injection. He then suggested that I wait a few hours and try to start it with the gas pedal to the floor.

    No luck trying to start after 5 hours of letting the engine sit. The cylinders are still flooding when I try to start up.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions would be welcomed because this is my only vehicle and I have two jobs and need a vehicle to get around.

    TL;DR

    I installed a clutch kit in my 3rd gen tacoma and now it wont start. Engine turns over but just floods. Had a diagnostic computer hooked up and the only code coming back is a failure to start.

    160400 is a very very common code thats stored on many cars. I basically ignore it, it doesnt trigger the light. Don't focus on it.

    Flooding cylinders is usually a pinched harness, injectors rely on ground to trigger and if the ground is pinched and shorted to ground, it will flood cylinders.

    I'd be looking super close at the harness behind the engine.

    No more such thing as "transmission codes" for manual transmission. What previous posts wrote, check for pinched wires in rear portion of engine, and clutch bellhousing.

    Thanks for your responses. As it turns out, the loose nut behind the wheel was the problem! I reinstalled the reluctor ring incorrectly and the timing was off leading to my issues. Ended up dropping everything back down and getting it sorted. Thanks! Now my back-up camera doesn't work so I need to check some connections to the reverse sensor.

    Had I seen this thread earlier, I was going to guess the reluctor was not put back on right.
