I purchased the 9" bezel before reading this thread, I guess I wasted a few $.
Collecting parts right now for a JBL.
    Any updates you can share?

Sorry guys had to get a knee replacement back in May so this got put on the back burner. I have been working off and on, on the junk yard surrounding and went out to test it today. Sad to report even with the mounting brackets slotted to move the radio up it still doesn’t have the clearance I need to get the surround in so the four way flasher module will fit. Would have to cut out the silver back panel and I don’t want to go that route. Have included some pics of what I am up against back there. Not sure on where to go from here, on a lighter note the original radio came back to life. first pic showed the backing which is stopping the radio from going any higher, second is kind of hard to see but shows the surrounding wher it would lock into the dash at the top and how much more the radio would need to come up and the third shows that all the connections work with the gen 2 wiring. I just sucks that somebody didn’t come up with a surround that would work with these radios.

Unfortunately there are no commercial bezels out there, you have to do major modifications to the main dash assembly in back of the radio to make it fit. I modified the front bezel from a wreck and got the radio to fit it but when I went to install it the radio came up against the main dash assembly as shown in the pic. You would have to cut out the silver support plastic enough for the radio to be moved up also the original metal radio brackets have to be modified, the holes need to be changed to slots to make the radio also move up to clear the four way flasher module. The whole project is doable if you are not afraid. Was going to get the silver part of the dash to try out first but the wrecking yards up here want too much for them.

    Hi folks

Here is my first participation in this great forum

Just complete today installation of Entune 2 (very nice OEM unit) in my 2009

Look awesome with "Awesafe" type modified bezel

Lot of work on chinese bezel, radio silver surround and OEM brackets, plus some trimming on Entune sides

If it can help someone, i could describe all steps

I'm gathering all the parts to retrofit a 2021 headunit into my 2013. I wouldn't mind some descriptions or pics of how you got yours situated, it looks really clean!

The 2021 unit is not wired correctly to fit the wiring on your 2013. Units from the 2016 to 2019 are plug and play, Toyota made the change for their 2020 to 2023 model years for some stupid reason. Would also like to see how the modification of the dash went to fit the radio in.

I've ordered a harness from www.autoharnesshouse.com after emailing them what I have and what I'm putting in. According to them all of the electrical should work plug and play, I'll just need to get the physical install and aesthetics sorted.

Yes with the adapter harness it will work, forgot to add that you could get an adapter for it. The big part about the whole install is that you have to modify the silver radio surround, large part with the vents in it. As the main body of the radio sits up too far you have to cut into the top of the surround in order for the radio and the awsafe bezel to fit. I tried that route modification and got the radio to sit perfectly in the bezel and and using modified 2013 to 2015 radio brackets I stopped as I determined that the silver surround had to be cut. Checking the wrecking yards around here to see if I could get on cheap one to play with so I didn’t mess up the original I found that they wanted close to $300 cdn for one. So I stopped the project and sold the radio.

So this is where I've gotten to in my project.
With the harness kit everything* was plug and play. The silver vent piece required a decent amount of trimming on the sides and top of the hole and none of the cuts are visible with the fascia pieces on. The metal brackets needed to be cut as well to raise the whole unit ~10mm up. The brackets need some more fiddling so the face angles back a few degrees. I ordered some eBay fascias but after testing I chopped up the original fascia. The sides got cut out and the remaining pieces got sanded flat. There's a gap between the bottom of the radio and the bottom fascia pieces that I have Velcro in currently but I'm thinking to replace it with something akin to a foam gasket.

*The backup camera wasn't displaying on the headunit and I went on a wild goose chase that had me digging through the wiring. It was two blown fuses :( 7.5a under the hood and a 10a under the dash. Gotta remember KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Show and tell about that Bezel please. I'm pulling my hair out over finishing a Kenwood DDX 9907XR that plays CDs and has a tilting/opening screen. Neither Metra or Scoshe is fitting right, and I've always hated the OEM glass facing the sky for maximum glare.
