Everyone on the planet seems to have very strong opinions about batteries. Why do you say that about Renogy? I also have their panels and charge controllers in two vehicles and like them. Have you heard of Epoch batteries? Im looking for a Group 31 with 300ah and those two are all i can find.

Post #'s 452, 455, and 483 in my build thread linked in my signature cover most of my troubles. Basically a ~6 month slog for a warranty replacement of a less than 3-year old battery. Outdated/frustrating CS to boot. Continuously ignored for long periods of time, only one response from them per day, can only discuss claim through their CS portal (with its terrible UI), etc.

I just saw those Epoch batteries, and I could get behind them, though their 300ah group 31 only has a recommended continuous discharge of 100a, which is too low for my setup. I do not know anything about how Epoch works though.

i can agree with Mr E30 on Renogy,,, they make a pretty good product but once in a while you get a lemon, and when you do

they just suck when it comes to customer service and after sales.

So, is there a reason very few 300ah group 31 batteries exist? I currently only have a 100ah AGM battery(which is toast) in the coach of my RV so even going to a 100ah Lipo would be an upgrade. I just figured Id go for the maximum I can fit in the space. What brand batteries are you using?

This I do not know. I wish there were more options for sure.

I jive with that mentality for sure. If you aren't needing high output amperage (I only need it due to 3000W inverter, in a 12V system, to power a dual burner 1800W induction cooktop, primarily (also nice to run almost any tool off of the truck too, even up to a miter saw)), I have heard good things about Epoch, just no direct personal experience to share (yet). 300ah will last you a long time too, even with moderate energy requirements.

Funnily enough, I still use (3) 100ah Renogy LifePO4 batteries (1 of them acts up maybe 20% of the time (poor BT communication with CC)), and (1) 135ah Dakota Lithium + 1000CCA Starter Battery in my truck. I had purchased the Renogys prior to my experience with their CS, so I will run them until they die, knowing when they do I will go with a Battle Born or Epoch or other, depending on what each is offering at that time.

First metalworking project was a success, love the way this cart turned out! Just needs some paint. @Yacob_D put me to work at the next mod day!

Measuring to see if I can fit a pelican or other knockoff case on the roof rack and still park in the garage... looks like based on my measurements I would clear by about 1" or a hair under.

    20250504_113458.jpg

I do have a dusty old pelican but it is green and bothers my 'tism on color matching.

Has an amusing relic from the GWOT era stuck on the top too:
    20250504_155916.jpg

Not sure if that's still funny to be on my vehicle or past its prime...

I got the welder used for dirt cheap and picked up the cutter at the parking lot sale for what ended up being like 70% off sticker! Super pleased with both so far!

I’ve got a little Klutch style fab table but it’s kinda rickety and the top isn’t exactly flat… A nice table is on the list for sure. Think the next project might be some new patio loungers
