Need reviews for Michelin Defender LTX M/S2

I'm looking to replace the discontinued stock Firestone Destination LE2 tires which I liked. Anyone running with Michelin Defender LXT M/S2 tires? Are they similar to stock? More noisy? Do you like?

 

I've had my set for about 5 months. I picked them because I wanted the best replacement for my stock Firestone and they are consistently rated at the top for performance, tread wear, etc. Not cheap(I think I spent around $1100 for a set of four before rebate) but they are worth it in my opinion. We had a lot of snow this past winter and they did amazing- I even tried to do donuts and they wouldn't slip!

Fuel economy may have dropped by a mile or so due to the heavier weight(the Firestones are very light) but they are quiet and hydroplaning has been non-existent. I stayed with stock size to keep things simple and I have zero regrets.

 

Michelin X LT A/S here.

Excellent tire. Quiet, smooth, great traction wet/dry.

Costco. On sale. And get mounting, lifetime balance and rotations, road hazard all included.

 

On my second set. Wouldn't run anything else. Quiet, long tread life, excellent in the wet

 

this was my go to tire for over 25+ years. In my opinion they are well worth it. However, with my 2020 Tacoma I ditched the OEM Firestone LE's after one year. Went with a A/T for the first time ever. Love the looks and were surprisingly good overall. Still can't beat a pair of Michelin Defender LTX M/S2.

 

I'm also wondering about a more harsh ride as I have a Sport. I only have about 25,000 miles on my 2016 Sport with aged out original tires. I did notice the current Costco price. Thanks for responses and for the heads up on Costco.

 

Quite unlikely with the Michelins.

Our RAV came with cheap Master Craft replacement tires. I moved those up to Bridgestone Alzenas, (which I also had on the Tacoma) and even wife noticed ride improvement.

Bumped the Tacoma up to Michelins last time. Quite the step up. So next time, it's what the RAV will get too.

 

I have them and like them. Ride quality on the Sport is a shock problem, though. Michelins aren’t going to solve that. They won’t make it rude harsher either.

 

I've got a set on my stock wheels and they perform really well, they handle great in turns, the rain, and even light snow. They are also quiet on the highway and don't reduce mpg
