I’m not opposed to switching it up. Beginning of the month might not be a bad call. I know sometimes we’ve been caught with the cancellation just weeks prior. I do think we should stick to September to hold true to tradition a little bit.

 

Kinda...got a hotel room lol. Probably visit the North Rim in Grand Canyon to finish the week.

What's the general feel for everyone? Stick with tradition, last weekend it's open and take it over - or - move to the first weekend in September, hope that offsets the annual fire curse, and take over the campground

 

Given that the Line Fire started on Sept 5th last year, my vote is for the first weekend or earlier

Would love to hear everyone else's thoughts that are probably lurking around

 

You cant predict when a fire is going to start. Hopefully we escape them this year, but I'm up for tradition or first weekend in september. I kinda feel like either date could get spoiled by someone doing a gender reveal with a pink smoke bomb in a park at the base of a dry mountain in socal. Lots of smart people here.

Oops... last weekend is the Blue Angels at Miramar Air Station and I promised I take my nephews and niece so scratch last weekend.

 

Out of curiosity, where did you see the dates for the air show? I checked the Miramar website and it says there are no shows listed.

 

They havent announced the dates yet, usually its the final weekend in September which would be the 26-28th.

 

Blue Angels website, they announce it at the beginning of each season Heck 2026 is shown already!
