    How's it going all,

I'm currently trying to buy a 2025 TRD Off-Road truck from my local dealer, but with the current recall for the 2024-2025 trucks for the brake lines there's a stop sale. Does anyone have any ideas or know when the recall might have a remedy?

Buy a Tacoma with 18” wheels. No stop sale on those.

Parts are expected to begin arriving at dealers sometime in April, but they are likely to use the first shipments to address vehicles on the road already. I'd be surprised if you see the stop sale lifted before sometime in May.

If you want something know, choose a model with 18" wheels. Those are not affected by this recall and can still be purchased.

I totally get that but the one I'm buying has all the options I want without compromising. I'm not a super huge fan of the toyota 18inch wheels to be completely honest. I'm mostly trying to have a better idea to try to plan since I'm coming off deployment and my vehicle plans are on hold with this recall

Then I'm afraid all you can do is wait. You'll get it eventually, but it will take some time.

Have them swap the wheels out for a set of 18"ers as part of the deal.

My understanding is not all OR trim levels are affected. I purchased a 25 ORLB on 2/28/25 with 17 in wheels and it is not part of the recall. There were others on the lot on a stop sale but I believe they were the OR upgrade and not the premium package.

Toyota expanded the recall after its initial release. I was actually sitting with a salesman about purchasing my 4GT when the remaining inventory with 17" wheels in his system went on stop sale. Thankfully, I was looking specifically at the TRD Sport hybrid, which comes with 18" wheels, so my purchase was not impacted but he now had several customers with pending deliveries he was going to have to call with the bad news.

You'll likely eventually be notified of the recall in the near future. Funny part is though a large portion of the people who buy these trucks will end up changing the wheels anyway! Many of those with 18" wheels have installed 17" aftermarket options already. Leaves you to wonder if they might experience the same issue down the road.

If they drive through mud then yes. Same deal with Land Cruisers and GX550s. But recalls don't cover equipment not installed at the factory/port for each vehicle.

Maybe find an identical truck that was produced after Jan 17, 2025. You can check the NHTSA website for updates.

What are they changing/updating exactly on the affected ones?
