Oh dude as soon as it happened, I called out his plate number so my dashcam captured my audio in case he took off.

Rolled my window down and signaled via hand to pull over and he did right away.

He didn't have his insurance card, but I got to finding out who his agent was so I called right away and got everything started then and there.

I ain't gonna let something like that slide at all

Really, it ain't bothering me it got hit. Just glad we were in the GX and not the Rav4. Dude was super apologetic and kept asking if Theo was ok.

Theo had just laughed it off, he loves hitting bumps etc

$1000 is about the cheapest quote I get for anything in this stupid house so that might be more competitive than you intended, as long as the guest room counts as lodging :D

I actually found an unused dedicated 20A circuit in the garage for what used to be a built in vacuum, gonna put a fresh outlet in there and see how it goes. The difference between 15A and 20A on this machine (before it pops the breaker) seems to be significant. Would be wild to crank it up to 45 though!

Nice, those the shelves for your cart?

Good to see you putting all your tools to use right away.

As for the 240v, it's an easy job. The crappy part is how expensive cabling is if you've got a long run to do. Did 240v in my own garage to a 50 amp double pole breaker - make sure you're set up to run the biggest power hungry device you've got whether it's your plasma cutter, welder, or air compressor.

Is ur dryer right inside from the garage by chance?
One thing i love about the house I’m renting right now is the washer/dryer in the garage for easy 240v
I think the standard dryer 240v amperage is lower than what you could get on a dedicated garage line, but still worlds better than 120v

Yup! Turns out 1/8” is super overkill, too bad nobody tried to warn me

For sure fun to use everything! That was the premise of this project, 1/2 because I needed a cart and 1/2 for practice/experience will all these new tools and operations!

I think I could maybe do it myself, biggest pain would be figuring out the conduit, it’s probably a good 30’ of outdoor run to get it where I want it…

It’s pretty close but the dryer is only 30A and a different shape plug… would just need to keep the door cracked. I’ve been thinking about it and may get an adaptor extension for a temporary solution if the 20A vac outlet doesn’t cut it and quote is outrageous.
