Interior lights won’t turn off??

Kids 2017 TRD Off Road just started the issue. The interior lights won’t shut off when it’s set to door mode on the switch. Only shuts off when you turn them to off. Anyone dealt with this? Door latch sensors are working.

 

I remember some members having problems with their interior lights when trying to switch to LED.

 

Haven’t messed with anything since we bought the truck. Has been working fine with no issues until today.

 

Have you tried unhooking the Negative battery cable for one minute to see if that clears things up?

 

I did not, he just got home and it’s late. Was just trying to see if anyone has dealt with it before screwing with it tomorrow. I’ll try that in the morning

 

Definitely smells like the pin switch on one or more doors. They could be intermittently sticking.

 

Don’t you think that would show on the screen that the door was ajar? That’s the one thing I did real quick when he got home was open and close all doors. I can mess with the pins also and see if one is sticking

 

In theory yes but I want to say mine did that on the passenger side and the door didn't show as open. It was either the Tacoma or my wife's Rav4 we ran into this similar thing.

 

There is also a timer on the lights you can set to stay on for several different time periods. If it is not set to off when doors close, it will stay on for whatever time is chosen. Hence the term "courtesy lights" Ski

 

They won’t even turn off when the car is in drive and moving now
