I went in 2 weeks after my best friend and we both got to go to his dad’s retirement as a Chief. Now I retired a year ago and my boys are both rapidly approaching the age…the military has changed so much I’m not sure I want them to go in and follow in my footsteps but would be extremely proud and honored. Having them grad with something of mine would be amazing. My buddy and his dad exchanged airmen coin for his Chief coin. Pretty amazing the connection and legacy the military creates

    Cool memories!

My dad got to swear me in for my first reenlistment, and the following year I got to present his flag to him at his retirement ceremony.:oldglory: Both are memories I cherish. :101010:

That’s awesome! My last enlistment and retirement were performed by my old squadron commander. We both got to our unit together and worked about 20 years together. As I was leaving he became a deputy group commander and my lil old retirement was way below his pay grade but he showed up. The brotherhood that’s formed in the military is like none other! I miss that the most being retired.
