Hello everyone. I have been chasing this issue for about a year now. At 55-75 (65 being the most significant) there has been a wobble/shake.

-I bought the truck with stock wheels and tire size - wobbles
-New wheels and tires (285/75R/16) -wobbles
-new front end components (control arms & bushings, tie rods, ball joints) -wobbles
    -new carrier bearing - wobbles
-new koyo front end wheel bearings - wobbles
-power steering rack, power steering pump, tie rod end links -wobbles

Any time a wheel alignment or balancing was necessary after the work, it was done. After a year of having this issue my front tires have worn significantly and prematurely on the inside. (Camber wear). Just today I had new tires put on with a balancing (alignment last week with rack and pinion job) and the problem still persists.

I feel it most coming from my seat and also in the steering wheel. I also have noticed that my shifter seems to wobble at the same frequency pretty significantly. At this point I’ve spent thousands on parts, tires, alignments, some labor. I’ve thought the U Joints but they seemed pretty tight when I did the carrier bearing job. What could this possibly be? Thanks in advance.

What about the steering rack bushings, and sway bar bushings? I have a 96 and it was swaying all over; did a full suspension replace (still have to do driveshaft carrier bearing) but the steering rack bushings noticeably tightened up the handling. Can also check mounting points for trans and engine.

This might be a candidate for a carrier bearing spacer. There are some great posts on this forum on this particular fix, calculations, etc.

I am also chasing this issue 1997 2.7l 4x4 manual.
    Work done:
New tires, new rims, tires balanced, steering rack replaced, clutch replaced in the last three months.
Just got the driveshaft rebalanced and Ujoints replaced by a specialty driveline shop, still wobbles. My transfer case is leaking though so maybe i have a bad case? ive also read on here that it possibly a driveshaft alignment issue or a maybe a leaf spring adjustment causing the angle of the driveshaft to be off. Is your truck lifted?

You are describing inr/otr tie rod issues.
Especially bc of your tire premature wear and replacement

but you stated both rack and ties RR’d
    ????

Only thing I can think of is worn LCA and UCA bushings

    how many miles?
What does tire wear look like?
    Cupping?
    Inside wear?
    Outside wear?

For starters, lift up the front end and check for play in the wheel bearings, tie rods, and ball joints. If everything is tight, try swapping your wheels around to see if the sound changes at all. Definitely don't always trust that your wheels got balanced right. I've had sloppy balance jobs before.
