I just built one with the flipper lid. While we live in the city, we are surrounded by woods and next to a state park so all kinds of critters tend to inhabit our neighborhood. Last year it was cottontails, and opossums. This year it looks like the rats have moved in and are burrowing under my shed. Yuck! I need the feral cats to hang out in my backyard for a while.

I have this setup in my shed. Don’t see any mice all summer but get a lot come fall and through the winter. I put antifreeze in it so it doesn’t freeze and I can say it doesn’t keep the smell away.

So I need to do some minor interior trim work and since I can't manually hammer a nail to save my life I will have to drag my little air compressor and 16ga nailer into the house. Kinda cumbersome, so I'm like hey I've got several Milwaukee batteries why not look at a Milwaukee 16ga battery nailer.

    Holy moley! :spending:

Needless to say I'm dragging the compressor and hose into the house! o_O

My nephew installs custom cabinets. He has one of their M12 pin nail guns. I used it to install some trim pieces in my parents house, very nice tool. It was great not having to deal with the air hose and compressor, but I'd have need that tool nearly every day to spend that kind of money. :spending:

Going to be doing some trim work in my wife’s office in a few weeks. I was actually thinking of buying one of these. Like you I don’t want to drag the compressor up there, hose gets in the way, and my wife will complain how loud it is. Had know idea these were that much. Looks like she’s going to have to deal with the noise for a bit.

Amazon has one for $149....I know Amazon but it's cheap enough for something you won't use often.

I get tired of dragging my loud pancake compressor around when I use mine too, luckily it's not often.

Only one of my 4 cats doesn't seem to mind it

I don't do enough trim work to really validate buying one, but I was absolutely in sticker shock on that one!

If that was 16ga I might be all on that one. I've got an abundance of 16ga nails I really don't want to buy 18ga. Those little buggers are getting expensive. I remember buying a pack of 1,000 for under $5. Now the cheapest I can find is $10 at Harbor Freight.

My wife gave me a DeWalt air trim gun several years ago. I have a Porter Cable pancake compressor I bought at an auction about 14 years ago for $10...works like new :spending:

I had a Tradesman brand air nailer for years that the plastic guts inside finally crumbled apart. Bought a Harbor Freight brand and it even fit perfectly into the case of my old one. I have an old Craftsman portable oil lubricated that I've also had for a long time. Also have some off brand oil free portable. So I just realized I have 3 air compressors :anonymous:

I'm wondering how many feet of air hose I can run off my main compressor before the pressure drop would be too great to run an air nail gun? If I bought another 150' of hose, with the 100' I have now I could reach anywhere around my house or barn that I wanted to go.

With an air gun I wouldn't think it would matter. It's not like you're building a whole house.......are you o_O

Good Monday morning all! Had a little adventure this weekend. Left the house at 5am Saturday to hit a fishing spot, lo and behold there was a new gate at the end of the road. After trying half dozen other spots we decided to walk in about a mile to a spot we knew that had boats stashed on the shore. We found a boat that was unlocked and had paddles stored with it, so we commandeered it for the day. We didn’t catch a thing, but it turned out to be a nice day with little wind and some sun. IMG_7464.jpg
there’s my buddy doing his best hardened fisherman impression. He sent a pic of us in the boat to one of his buddies, who said “ you’re out to king pond huh?” We said no we’re on the Penobscot (trying to hide our fishing spot). He said “bullshit that’s my boat!” What are the odds? Ended up being a great day but started off pretty frustrating. Sunday I took some time to make a tool to put the kids 4 wheeler together. Doesn’t look like much, but it torqued the nut to 47 ft. Lb. So mission accomplished. IMG_7466.jpg

Back to work on this sunny Monday. Have a great week everyone!

Man alive are they proud of it!

Put the compressor outside and run the hose in a window.
