As a first step in overhauling my Tacoma's audio, I sound insulated doors with 80mil butyl and 150mil closed cell and install the Focal plug and plays (IS 690 and IC 165). These wouldn't have been my first pick, but got a great deal on them.

My next stop is addressing the stock tune. I listen to mostly live music and I like a full and clean sound stage and 90% of what I hear now is the tweeters and don't have the skillset to try and tune through a DSP.

I know VERY little about car audio, so I've pretty much limited myself to the Trail Grid selection and based on reliability, UI and simplicity I'm between the Sony 6000 and 9000es.

I've been blown away with some home audio setups I've seen in the ESS series, but if I'm not looking to take advantage of the parametric EQ the 9000es offers, is it still worth the extra $250 based on the high-end components alone?

Could really use that $250 savings towards getting my hands on an amp earlier rather than later.

    Let me know your thoughts.
