    I saw this pic from Pagosa Springs this morning. I was glad that you got out over the weekend before more of that crap came down.

    Phish Food??

    I learned a valuable lesson tonight in the construction of mortise joints.. make the mortise first, then adjust the size of the tenon to fit it. Ehh, it was a learning experience made from salvaged material so I'm not too upset. A few shims in the backside of the mortise and some urethane glue ( gorilla glue) and a few well placed dowels, it will be good enough to hold up a mailbox.





    My idea to cut a shallow relief ( rabbit?) 3/4" for the arm to set in went out the window when I saw how cupped the lumber is. Tomorrow I will glue the joint and shim the tenon tight and draw everything together with a rachet strap, then drill for the dowels and be done with it.
