Just bought a used taco v6 2021 with 54300 miles . Dip stick has a little resistance going in . Does anyone else experience this ?

edit : it sits in fine.. not an issue of it going in all the way . The pathway through the tube is kind of rough and not smooth . Feels skippy and grindy ( around the turns of the tube ) I know it’s probably just the S shape of the tube but just wanted to clarify.

    thanks !!

Make sure the flat side is facing the tube curve where it enters the engine (flat side facing cab). Shouldn't be too much resistance.

Mine has the same kind of thing. Kind of feels like you're pushing up against something. If you rotate it, it doesn't feel as bad, but there's definitely more resistance than any other vehicle I've had.

When I got mine the dip stick wouldn't go in all the way ! Bought a new dipstick and it's fine. The gasket was messed up, I guess. It does fit tightly... that's what I would want !

Sand the tip of the dipstick round. These things come from the factory looking like they were shaped with a handsaw. Sanded and polished mine and it glides like butter now. Took less than two minutes.
While you’re there, you could rough it up a lil between the indicator dots to get an easier reading, but not necessary

Be glad you have a dipstick. None for transmission. With all the dumb electronics controlling vehicles now engine dipsticks may soon disappear for something worse.

This fixed the problem . Took some 600 grit to the end and roughed up in between the nipples with a file . Sliding like butta

    Thank you :)

Or smooth it out. Take a peak at the tip next time you check it. Takes like two minutes

I can't speak for all of them, but mine was actually taking shavings off the tube before I eased the edges. Those shavings go right into the oil. A little easing of the edges went a long way. Glad you got it taken care of, OP.
